Public Affairs Senior Associate - Chicago

Kivvit is seeking a Senior Associate for our Chicago office to serve as the senior support role on a diverse portfolio of client accounts, as well as serve in a management position on small and mid-size accounts. Senior Associates are integral to the day-to-day operations. You will be exposed to nearly every element of modern communications. As a result, having prior media relations, political or advocacy campaign experience will be a significant asset. Ideal candidates will bring three to five years of relevant experience and salary is commensurate with experience.

As a Senior Associate, your responsibilities will include:

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

  • Serve as day-to-day account manager on small and mid-size accounts
  • Develop strong and supporting relationships with members of client team
  • Coordinate and facilitates internal and client activities
  • Develop critical client deliverables including presentations, strategy memos or equivalent
  • Actively participate in client and internal presentations

 

PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Kivvit communications concepts and techniques
  • Quickly assimilate new information in order to understand complex client challenges
  • Superior writing, editing and research skills relevant to the demands of the discipline
  • Provide meaningful input and creative assistance to deliverable development for clients
  • Demonstrate interest and special knowledge in a sector, issue or practice area, as well as public policy

 

CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS

  • Manage day-to-day client relationships with peer-level contacts at client
  • Maintain and enhances the team’s working relationships
  • Pro-actively identify and respond to client needs
  • Interface with media on behalf of the client
  • Take ownership and accountability of deliverable subcomponents
  • Utilize firm tools and methods for delivering thorough and insightful services

 

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Manage proposal development for small to mid-size client prospects
  • Seek opportunities to participate in pitch and proposal efforts
  • Proactively Identify new business opportunities
  • Network with peer-level contacts at client prospects
  • Understand firm philosophy and marketplace
  • Capture lessons learned, methodologies, and solutions from engagements

 

FIRM MANAGEMENT

  • Seek opportunities to identify and improve internal processes and systems
  • Contribute to employees’ performance evaluations, including those of managers
  • Coordinate and manages firm subcontractors and vendors as directed
  • Mentor and train junior staff and interns
  • Contribute to firm’s best practices
